Tampa Bay Times shortsighted in making Steve Kornell’s re-election bid a one-issue race

in The Bay and the 'Burg/Top Headlines by

Disappointment. Obstructionist. Those are just two of the names the Tampa Bay Times has used to describe St. Pete City Council member Steve Kornell because he continues to reject a proposed agreement between the city and the Tampa Bay Rays to allow the team to look outside St. Pete for possible new stadium sites within the region. The Tampa Bay Times has repeatedly called for Kornell’s ousting over this sole issue. The Times’ editorial board became one step closer to…

As of Monday afternoon Montanari seems to have it in the bag. No one has filed paperwork to run against him and there hasn’t been a single whisper of potential challengers. Local Democrats have been rumored to be looking, but appear to have come up empty-handed in…

Emails collected showed numerous complaints to city officials regarding the recycling bins’ size, color, location, weight, roll-ability, cost and overall forceful nature from which they magically appeared. We’ve reported on the details – where do you put them? When do they get picked up? Why can’t they go in…

Old Northeast HOA supports recycling, but not as-is

in The Bay and the 'Burg/Top Headlines by

The Historic Old Northeast Neighborhood Association has officially come forward with complaints about St. Pete’s new curbside recycling program. It’s the curbside part they have a problem with. While several residents in the neighborhood have sent emails to city staff, the Mayor’s office and City Council, the association has now put it’s group into the mix.
