Save BayWalk

in The Bay and the 'Burg by

News is breaking this evening that two days after he took over BayWalk, interim property manager Howard Rosenthal was arrested Thursday by Pinellas Sheriff’s detectives accused of stealing almost $171,000 from his former company, Colliers Arnold of Clearwater. This is yet another black eye on one of the most important parts of downtown St. Pete. I could make the argument that it was the development of Baywalk, more than any other effort, that has led to the revitalization of downtown…

If Representative Kriseman runs, Welch has stated he would not run — and vice-versa. I think there are significant factors that would influence a Kriseman run, geography and timing. The former points to a Kriseman run, while the latter does not. – Just…

in The Bay and the 'Burg by

St. Petersburg council member Karl Nurse wants the city to require gas stations and convenience stores to remove all window signs in the wake of a series of violent store robberies. Without the poster advertisements, there is a greater chance criminals could be seen from the street during robbery attempts, Nurse said. For years, the Police Department has advised store owners to remove the signs, with little success. The council voted Thursday to discuss a potential ordinance in a future…

TAMPA — Developer Fred Bullard, an original partner in the BayWalk retail center, has bought out the Sembler Co. for full control of the downtown St. Petersburg plaza.
