Just another bad day for the St. Petersburg Times, which failed to convince a federal judge that the city of St. Petersburg’s new ban on street solicitation should be blocked while the matter winds its way through the courts.  Judge Lazzara said there was no question in his mind that the ordinance was content-neutral, narrowly tailored and that a significant government interest was at stake. Daily circulation at Tampa Tribune plummets 18%, St. Petersburg Times also sees weekday sales drop

Circulation of the Tampa Tribune and St. Petersburg Times continued to decrease, according to figures released by the Audit Bureau of Circulations.  The Tampa Tribune saw an 8 percent decline on Sundays down 24,666 to 259,917, while weekday circulation plummeted 35,464, or 18 percent to 159,813, while circulation of the St. Petersburg Times dipped 1.4 percent (4,205) to 278,888.  But, as Eric Deggans writes the Times was the only newspaper in Top 25 to show a circulation gain on Sundays.
