The first round of TallyMadness — the online voting competition to determine Florida’s “best” lobbyist — ended Monday with some close matchups and a few strong defeats; among the latter: #10 seed Sean Pittman over #7 seed Jeff Hartley, with Pittman holding 66% of the vote.
Closer matchups included those between #3 seed Robert Coker and #14 seed Teye Reeves; and between #6 seed Steve Metz and #11 seed Mike Hightower.
Metz carried a 16-point lead in Metz vs Hightower; while Coker closed with a smaller 8-point lead in Coker vs Reeves.
Victors (and fellow US Sugar lobbyists) Metz and Coker now face each other in the second-round; while Pittman moves on in a matchup with Chris Dudley.
