Tampa Bay Bucs bring up the rear in NFL’s Week 2 power rankings

in Sports/Top Headlines by

Last. You probably saw it coming.

Thirty-second. And who can blame them?

The caboose. And where else would you place Lovie Smith’s Tampa Bay Bucs?

The Bucs, who lost 42-14 to a Tennessee team that was 2-14 a year ago, are the last-place team in the Pro Football Talk power ratings this week. The ranking was accompanied by a single sentence: “Maybe the Bucs should add a ‘no blocking’ and ‘no tackling’ clause to the ‘no baseball’ provision in Jameis Winston’s contract.”

The Bucs are also in last place in the power rankings by NFL.com, SB Nation, Yahoo and The Washington Post. It was impossible to find a power ranking, in fact, that had the Bucs anywhere but last. Most of the rankings had the Bucs from 29th to 31st coming into the game.

“The real concern is a defense that wouldn’t have stopped the University of North Texas on Sunday. At least defense isn’t Lovie Smith’s side of the ball. Well, wait… “

“It’s clear this is a poorly coached team,” Yahoo said.
