Rep. Dana Young is asking friends and supporters to join her at a Kick-off party for re-election to District 60.
The fundraiser will be Tuesday, September 17 at the Tampa Yacht and County Club, 5320 Interbay Blvd, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Young, a sixth-generation Floridian, has represented Tampa and parts of Hillsborough County since 2010. She is currently deputy majority leader and majority whip of the Florida House. Her central focus has been keeping the state government to its core mission of schools, public safety, infrastructure, and supporting children and seniors in need.
In April, Gov. Rick Scott appointed the Republican to the Florida Defense Support Task Force. The Governor and the Florida Legislature created the Task force to defend, protect and enhance Florida’s military missions and installations.
“Rep. Young has a passion for protecting the military and has been a strong advocate for MacDill Air Force Base and the Tampa Bay community throughout her time in the Florida House,” Scott said in a statement announcing her appointment. “She is committed to making sure Florida families succeed, and I know she will help ensure that Florida remains the most military friendly state in the nation.”
