Temple beats UConn to eliminate USF from AAC division race

in Sports/Top Headlines by

The USF trophy case will remain empty.

The Bulls’ last chance at the AAC East title slipped away Saturday night as Temple took a 27-3 victory over UConn.

USF had hoped over its last two games to catch the Owls, who they beat 44-23 in Tampa. But Temple didn’t blink in wins over Memphis and UConn.

Temple got 109 yards rushing from Jahad Thomas while holding the Huskies to only nine yards on the ground on 26 carries. UConn only had 138 yards of total offense.

Temple will play Houston for the conference title next week.
