Really?
College football released its its first playoff rankings Tuesday, and the surprise was that the Aggies beat out undefeated Washington for the final slot. Alabama, Clemson and Michigan are the other three teams. Most observers had thought that the top four were a slam dunk.
However, A&M made it with wins over four winning teams behind quarterback Trevor Knight. Washington has only two.
Washington was fifth, followed by Ohio State, Louisville, Wisconsin, Auburn and Nebraska. Florida is ranked No. 11.
