Recently, Pinellas County residents were offered an opportunity to give feedback on the county’s 2013 budget priorities via web-survey. Today, residents should not miss the opportunity to speak up in person as county commissioners and other local leaders continue towards setting next year’s fiscal budget.

Pinellas is facing another tough year of budget decisions, including the need to cut $21.5 million from the county budget next fiscal year.

Commissioner Ken Welch will be chairing this open information forum for the county, today at St. Petersburg City Hall at 5:00 p.m. Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri also will present the Office’s budget.

“The public is encouraged to make comments on the upcoming budget,” said Welch.

According to Welch, the county is in the early stages of creating next year’s fiscal plan, and they are asking for citizen help to set the county’s direction.
