State Attorney Bernie McCabe announced his support for Chris Sprowls, Republican candidate for State Representative, this morning.

Sprowls is running in newly formed District 65 covering the communities of Tarpon Springs, Dunedin, Palm Harbor and East Lake.

“In 20 years as your State Attorney, I’ve only endorsed one other candidate in a Republican Primary,” said McCabe, “But today I ask you to join me in giving the people of the newly drawn House District 65 a stronger, bolder, more dedicated and harder working representative. I ask you to join me in support of Chris Sprowls.”

Chris Sprowls, 28, is prosecutor for the Sixth Judicial Circuit, which encompasses Pinellas and Pasco Counties. McCabe cited Sprowls’ tireless work as a prosecutor in his endorsement.

“With scores of jury trials under his belt, many involving serious felonies like murder, kidnapping, and crimes against children, Chris will be ready to serve the people of Pinellas County on the very first day, said McCabe. “Chris will never forget that our justice system is the cornerstone of our government. He will ensure that victims, defendants and all those seeking access to justice are given what government promised them. These are not principles he just speaks of – he lives them.”

“I am honored by Mr. McCabe’s support,” said Sprowls. “We have worked very hard to right wrongs in our community and to ensure justice for all people. If elected to serve in Tallahassee I will continue our work of righting wrongs and provide people with the principled leadership that they deserve.”
