For the Tampa Bay Lightning, goals just became a little harder to come by. Forward Ondrej Palat is going to be out for three-five weeks.
The Lightning are calling Palat’s problem โa lower body injury,โ but he was wearing a brace on his left ankle. He left the Lightning’s 1-0 loss to Minnesota in the second period after Nino Niederreiter fell on his leg.
Palat, the least flashy member of the Triplets, has two goals and seven points in 16 games.
“It [stinks] to be injured, not play and not help the guys,” Palat said in comments tweeted by the Lightning.
“He’s an extremely valuable player to our team,” Lightning coach Jon Cooper said. “Our depth will be tested. He’s as honest a player as you’re going to find in this League. Plays all the hard minutes, all the important minutes.”
