Unkind words for the Florida Democratic Party’s Rod Smith

Back from D.C. and am just now reading last week’s edition of La Gaceta. Did you catch Patrick Manteiga’s harsh words for Florida Democratic Party Chairman Rod Smith?

Writing immediately after the FDP’s convention in Tampa, Manteiga said, “It appears no one will miss current (FDP) Chair Rod Smith.  This might be a contributing factor as to why Democrats are already looking forward to his replacement, whoever it might be, in January 2013.”

Continues Manteiga, “Smith has to be the worst chair we can remember.  He treated the job as a part-time affair, even though it pays over $100,000. It’s almost as if he used it to keep his name out in public in case the opportunity presented itself to run for statewide office.”

“He’s proven to be an unimaginative and aloof chair,” concludes Manteiga.

Wow, and I thought Karen Thurman did a lousy job.
