Anne Lindberg has a piece in the St. Petersburg Times today about the most recent flip-flop on the EMS saga. Seems as though Commissioner Karen Steel withdrew her support for the LaSala sub-district proposal after she determined it would not protect the County from legal action by the fire districts.
Duh.
LaSala has been doing the old soft shoe around the EMS issue for months, trying to protect an outdated, inefficient, excessively costly system of EMS service delivery.
County Commissioners must realize that anything that comes up from the County Administrator’s office will be slanted toward his concepts. The information will be incomplete and biased.
Probably should have spent a little more time poking around in that SunStar Contract renewal also.
Ken Welch is doing his home work and the rest of the County Commission is going to have to get out in the weeds and get the details. That fuzzy stuff over your eyes is wool courtesy of the County administration.
