With the revised State Senate boundaries now approved by the Florida Supreme Court, State Representative Jeff Clemens’ (D-Lake Worth) campaign for State Senate announced today the endorsements of the following 12 current and former local elected officials in Palm Beach County:

·      Palm Beach County Commissioner Paulette Burdick
·      Mayor of Greenacres Sam Ferreri
·      Mayor of Lantana Dave Stewart
·      Mayor of South Palm Beach Dr. Don Clayman
·      Mayor of Palm Springs Bev Smith
·      Palm Beach Councilman Michael Pucillo
·      South Palm Beach Councilman Robert Gottlieb
·      South Palm Beach Councilman Dr. Joe Flagello
·      South Palm Beach Councilwoman Bonnie Fischer
·      Lake Worth City Commissioner Andy Amoroso
·      Former Lake Worth City Commissioner Rethea Lowe
·      Hypoluxo Councilman Bill Smith

“Local leaders are the ones closest to the community and their support means a lot to me,” said Clemens. “The community deserves a State Senator that will fight for working families and the middle-class, not the big banks and insurance companies who think they own our state government.”

Representative Clemens is seeking the new Senate District 27, which spans from the northern tip of Boynton Beach to Riviera Beach, and from the ocean to the Turnpike. This new district encompasses approximately 95% of Representative Clemens’ current State House District 89, which includes the City of Lake Worth, where he served as Mayor from 2007-2009.

The following are statements of support from several local leaders:

“Representative Clemens has never missed an opportunity to fight for the people of Palm Beach County in the Florida legislature,” said County Commissioner Paulette Burdick. “Jeff’s leadership and vision will make him a great Senator.”

“As a City Commissioner and small business owner, I have no doubt it my mind that Jeff Clemens will fight for small businesses and middle-class families in the Florida Senate,” said Lake Worth City Commissioner Andy Amoroso.

“I enthusiastically support Representative Clemens’ candidacy for State Senate,” said Palm Beach Councilman Michael Pucillo. “Representative Clemens has demonstrated a clear understanding and passion for the Town’s needs, particularly in the area of shore protection.”
