With special election looming, Eric Eisnaugle banks another $7.5K during December in HD 44

Yesterday, Steve Precourt resigned from his State House seat to become the next Executive Director of the Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority.

His resignation sets up a special election to be set by the Governor in the near future.

Precourt’s endorsee and former State Representative Eric Eisnaugle closed out the typically slow last month of the year with $7,500 for December and a total 23.7k for the final quarter. The “Eis-train” now has a stout 173K raised for the campaign with about 163K of it on hand.

There are some that believe Eisnaugle could be a future Speaker of the Florida House. That theory is credible given latest fundraising haul that features donations from old Tallahassee contacts.

He’s already announced that if there is a special election in Florida House 44, he’ll run for the office (that story HERE).

The other two candidates running for Florida House 44, both Democrats, did little on the fundraising spreadsheets this quarter. Both Disney employee Lee Douglas and businessman Shaun Raja raised a combine $1000 and have less for the campaign than Eisnaugle had for the month.
