Adam Smith’s Freudian slip

in Uncategorized by

In the online edition of his “Winner and Loser of the Week in Florida politics,” the Tampa Bay Times Adam Smith names House District 36 candidate Amanda Murphy the LoW because “Mike Fasano … announced he won’t endorse anyone in the special election to replace him… Many people saw signs Fasano, an independent-minded Republican, was poised to endorse the Democrat, which would have been a giant boost.”

Smith then commits a Freudian slip, writing, “(I)t speaks volumes that Crist is not endorsing fellow Republican Bill Gunter, paster of his close pal and speaker-to-be Richard Corcoran.”

Smith meant to write Fasano, who is a Republican and a close pal of Corcoran.

Of course, tt’s easy to see where Smith got Fasano confused with Crist, them both being maverick politicians willing to buck their party.
