Bucs’ injured Akeem Spence suspended one game for drug policy

in Sports/Top Headlines by

Injured Tampa Bay Bucs’ defensive tackle Akeem Spence has been suspended for a game for violating the league’s drug policies. Spence’s suspension follows  his marijauna arrest in January of 2014.

Spence, recovering from back surgery, is running behind the depth at defensive tackle for the Bucs, which includes starters Gerald McCoy and Clinton McDonald, free agent Harry Melton and newly acquired Tony McDaniel.

In 32 games, Spence has four sacks and three fumble recoveries. He was a fourth-round draft pick by the Bucs in 2013.
