University of Florida football fans may have someone else to blame this fall.
According to a report in gridironnow.com, incumbent quarterback Treon Harris is set to try his hand at wide receiver this fall.
Harris was at quarterback most of the way down the stretch for the Gators last year as the offense sputtered repeatedly. Florida started the season 6-0 behind Will Grier, but Grier was suspended for PED use and has announced that he will transfer.
If Harris’ move to receiver sticks, the Gators will choose between Luke Del Rio, who sat out as a transfer last year, and former quarterback Austin Appleby, a graduate transfer from Purdue. Freshman signees Feleipe Franks and Kyle Trask could also figure into the mix.
Only once did Harris surpass the 165-yard plateau last year, and the Gators lost their final three games of the season. He finished with nine touchdowns and six interceptions.
