Heisman finalists do not include FSU runner Dalvin Cook

in Sports/Top Headlines by

As good as FSU’s Dalvin Cook was this year, he is not among the three players listed as Heisman Trophy candidates.

Nor is LSU’s Leonard Fournette. Nor Navy’s Keenan Reynolds.

In one of the most competitive Heisman races ever, the finalists are Clemson’s DeShaun Watson, Stanford’s Christian McCafferty and Alabama’s Derrick Henry.

Five straight quarterbacks have won the award, which would lean toward Watson, whose team is unbeaten. Henry’s team has one loss. McCafferty’s team is the only one that did not reach the playoffs.
