Dr. Ed Moore, President and CEO of the Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida, congratulated the members of the 2013 legislature for another successful session and the passage of a balanced budget.

“We are thankful for the Legislature’s $13.8 million increase to the Florida Resident Access Grant (FRAG) and their continued commitment to funding student assistance. The FRAG program and other Florida sources of student aid provide our aspiring scholars with the assistance they need to pursue higher education,” said Moore.

“Expanding postsecondary opportunities creates positive change for students and Florida’s economy. For the Floridians who receive FRAG funds and those who will receive it in the future, this grant not only represents an opportunity for continued higher education, but for success in future careers and throughout life. Providing a foundation for students’ achievement is an investment in Florida’s future workforce, ensuring we have well-trained college graduates who will contribute to our growing economy.”
