Walking in the Bahama Shores neighborhood today, I passed by Larry Williams home. The former council member is pondering a run for mayor, despite his poor finish in 2001. However, before he thinks about a run in 2009, shouldn’t he take down his billboard from eight years ago?

On 22nd Avenue North, near 28th Street, the billboard is a private sign not maintained by any of the major outdoor advertising concerns such as ClearChannel. So I could understand if the sign stayed up a few months after the election. But eight years?!?! I can’t believe the artwork on that billboard has lasted that long. And his poor kids, who are all very good people, should be the ones clamoring loudest for their dad to take down that billboard. Would you want a picture of yourself from eight years ago staring down drivers as they head to Home Depot?
