Magic reach for UNLV’s Stephen Zimmerman in the second round

in Sports/Top Headlines by

The Orlando Magic took a chance on the future with their second-round pick in Thursday night’s NBA draft.

The Magic picked freshman Stephen Zimmerman out of UNLV with their 41st pick overall.

Zimmerman, only 19, averaged 10.5 points per game and 8.7 rebounds in his only season with UNLV. He needs work on his scoring touch.

The Magic was also supposed to have the No. 47 pick, but they traded the pick to Portland for cash and a future No. 2 draft pick.
