The end for SaintPetersBlog

Ever since I acquired the rights to the perfect domain for my efforts — FloridaPolitics.com — I knew that one day, this website would have to be put out to pasture.

Well, after more than 51,000 posts, this is the final one.

Going forward, I am devoting my full energies to the Florida Politics brand, whether it be the website, email programs like “Sunburn” and “Last Call,” or our gorgeous, award-winning INFLUENCE Magazine. Keep Reading

This guy just knows what he’s talking about…

His name’s Antonio and he is the very embodiment of the concept “Old Country.” He was born in The Old Country before it was even known as The Old Country. He’s Mark’s bride-to-be’s godfather and, damn, if he isn’t one of the most interesting men I’ve ever met. Sure he slurs together his English like an hour-old cocktail, but when he speaks you just have to listen. He said something earlier today about love and marriage, something simple but more…

It was Alan who really led me to Toast because on my first visit there he was my waiter. I aksed him how he liked working there, to which he replied that it was the “best job he ever had.” People in the restaurant business just don’t say that…

Toast wins Best of Long Island

in Apolitical by

I haven’t run a winning campaign in a couple of years, so it feels especially good to find out that our restaurant has won the award for Best of Long Island. Here’s what they wrote: Port Jefferson is a progressive little town, more like its New England counterparts just a ferry ride away. Toast embodies that small town feeling: It’s the sort of breakfast-and-lunch coffee shop where they remember your name. This hip little spot also features local artwork for…
