Preston Parker, arrested early Saturday morning and charged with driving under the influence, is no longer a member of the Florida State football team. Here’s the statement from FSU: Florida State head coach Bobby Bowden announced Monday that wide receiver Preston Parker has been dismissed from the team. “Preston Parker has been dismissed from the Florida State football team due to his latest violation of team policy,” Bowden said. Parker, who just completed his junior season, played in 33 games for Florida State. In the 2008 season, he played in 10 games with eight starts and led all wide receivers with 40 catches, was second on the team with 372 receiving yards and had two touchdowns. He caught 102 passes the last two years and had seven career touchdowns (five receiving, two rushing). Through his three seasons with Florida State, Parker also played running back and returned punts and kickoffs for the Seminoles. There will be no further comment from FSU.
