Some moms and little girls in Florida are thanking the New York Rangers.
The top-seeded Rangers won Game 7 of the NHL semifinals in New York Wednesday night, meaning that a “Disney on Ice: Frozen” will go on as planned in Tampa this weekend. Had the Washington Capitals beaten the Rangers, they would’ve faced the Tampa Bay Lightning in game one of the NHL Eastern Conference finals in Tampa on Saturday, bumping the Disney show. The Lightning will now play the Rangers in New York on Saturday.
Tickets for Frozen went on sale last summer.
It’s not the first time the hockey playoffs have bumped a Disney show. In 2011, the Lightning advanced to the eastern conference finals and three showings of “Disney’s Toy Story on Ice” were canceled.
