So how good was your team this year?
Really?
Yeah, you can give vague answers if you want, but USA Today has re-ranked the nation’s football teams from No. 1-No. 128. Probably, you aren’t satisfied with how they saw your finish.
A review:
FSU (10): The Seminoles of Jimbo Fisher haven’t been highly ranked for most of the year. The newspaper sees FSU as 10th, behind other two-loss teams such as Stanford (6th), Notre Dame (8th) and TCU (9th).
Best win: Florida.
Worst loss: Georgia Tech.
Florida (17): The Gators fell considerably after their loss to FSU when a pedestrian offense caught up to the Gators. But should Florida really be behind a three-loss Oregon (16th team) team?
Best win: Tennessee.
Worst loss: LSU.
Miami (39): The Hurricanes won eight games, which isn’t bad. It’s just that they gave up 117 points in two of their losses. Still, should they be behind Washington State (26th), Arkansas (34st) and Texas A&M (38th):
Best win: Nebraska.
Worst loss: Cincinnati.
USF (48): The Bulls lost to FSU, Memphis and Navy. Not a lot to be ashamed of. So why is USF ranked behind Northern Illinois (44th) and Air Force (46th)?
Best win: Temple.
Worst loss: Maryland
FIU (90): The Panthers fell one game short of being bowl eligible, but they didn’t get a lot of respect. They’re behind a pair of 3-9 teams (88th-ranked Iowa State and 89th-rand Georgia Tech) and 4-9 Colorado (86th).
Best win: UTEP.
Worst loss: FAU.
FAU (104): The Owls had a season in which they fell just short in several games. In the end, they weren’t among the top 100 teams in the nation. They can argue they were as good as Maryland (98th) or Wake Forest (102nd), but not too loudly.
Best win: FIU.
Worst loss: UTEP.
Central Florida (128): Someone has to be the worst team in college football. This year, that was the 0-12 Knights. Their only complaint is that they were behind a Kansas team (127th) that also finished 0-12.
Best win: They had a good day in practice once.
Worst loss: FIU.
