22-story apartment building planned to replace troubled Onyx night club

Last spring the long-troubled Onyx nightclub closed its doors after years of illegal drug activity and at least one shooting. Now the space located at 211 Third St. S. is slated for something all new:  a 22-story apartment tower. According to St. Pete Rising, Ken Heretick of Vector Properties currently owns the property. Alley recycling pickup to start in St. Pete January 25

St. Pete residents with alley access have known since September they would be able to start taking recycling bins to the alley where trash is collected instead of to the curb sometime in January. The new St. Pete Pier won’t be called Pier Park. The design concept originally pitched as Pier Park will remain the same, but the name itself will not. A former employee and prominent local publicist is suing the Birchwood in downtown St. Pete for age discrimination. Susan Robertson, 66, had served as the boutique hotel’s senior banquet sales manager for about a year according to a lawsuit filed in Pinellas County courts. Park Once in St. Pete encourages visitors to use parking garages

St. Pete is launching a six-month pilot program Friday that allows downtown partygoers or sightseers to park in one of two parking garages and then use a shuttle to get from place to place.
