in Peter/The Bay and the 'Burg by

St. Petersburg voters still have no clue about who the next mayor should be, a new St. Petersburg Times poll shows. 61% undecided. Kathleen Ford, um, leads with 10%. After Ford, Bill Foster and Deveron Gibbons each received 8 percent, followed by Larry Williams and Scott Wagman with 4 percent each. City Council member Jamie Bennett received 3 percent of the vote. Newcomer Richard Eldridge received 1 percent. Here are ten things I think I think about this poll. 1.…

Scott Wagman advertising on NYTimes.com

in The Bay and the 'Burg by

It must be nice to have enough money to pay for spots on (I assume a regional version) of The New York Times website. But are these ads targeting me personally?. After all, how many other St. Pete voters are there who are reading an article about Greek Nachos in the Dining & Wine section of the paper of record.

The Worst Election Ever

Who would believe the fate of St. Petersburg could be changed by a car accident that occurred well beyond its city limits? On a brisk October evening, the Lord decided to call home Patrick Brett, the 20-year-old son of Terry and Kim. The high school student body president, homecoming king, and president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, died well before his time in a car accident on his way home from a college football game. This clip isn’t on his primary website, but you can find it if you look for it. It’s a little long for a commercial, but an edited version may be the framework for the first of what is sure to be a barrage of Scott Wagman media. Karen Seel, Janet Long stand up for Scott Houghton-Wagman?

in The Bay and the 'Burg by

I just can’t stand Scott Wagman’s campaign. It’s borderline irrational because I agree with Mr. Houghton-Wagman on most of the issues. I just can’t stomach the sense of noblesse oblige that drips from his campaign. You can see it in this picture taken at one of his fundraisers. Imagine Houghton-Wagman’s brain at work. “If I can just get this picture of Karen Seel and Janet Long standing next to me, that’s almost as good as endorsement. Because someone will follow…
