The Tampa Bay Times is drawing attention to a possible hang-up for bike share aspirations in St. Pete: Seattle’s program is saddled with debt. That’s a scary prospect, indeed. Bill Nelson wants limits on drones around airports

U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson is meeting with Florida’s airport directors as part of a push to garner support for new technology that could protect airports and other sensitive areas from drones. Nelson was in Orlando on Friday meeting with airport directors from Orlando, Miami, Tampa, Jacksonville, Sarasota, Clearwater and Panama City. Former resident accuses Tampa apartment complex of discrimination

The Madison Heights apartment complex in downtown is in the middle on an interesting legal battle. A former resident, self-proclaimed part-time comedian David Eldredge, is suing the owners of the building for discrimination and illegally disclosing his HIV status. According to legal documents filed in Hillsborough County court Jan. 27, Eldredge lived in the 55-and-over complex and was its activity director. A Tampa company is shifting and expanding its base of operations to St. Petersburg. Tampa Microwave’s CopaSat is moving to a North St. Pete location from its previous headquarters in West Tampa. A series of business tracking sites also list a CopaSat location at 4701 Central Ave. in St. Pete with  three employees. Tampa, Jax among least energy efficient cities in America

Whether it’s the construction of green buildings, pushing more public transit, or investing in sustainable infrastructure, the Sunshine State is practically flunking when it comes to energy efficiency. That’s according to a new scorecard by a Washington D.C.-based nonprofit. The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy has issued grades to Florida’s four largest cities.
