Do you know someone who has lost an election? Have you contributed to a losing campaign? Have you ever voted for a losing candidate?

If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, then you are invited to attend the 2nd Annual Millard Fillmore Gala — a celebration of all those brave souls who just weren’t electable enough to win.

Last year, the first Millard Fillmore Gala attracted many of St. Petersburg’s finest citizens — as well as a few ex-candidates who had a few dollars leftover from their oh-so-close-to-winning campaigns.

This year, in the lovely courtyard of the Sixth Avenue Villas, there will be live music, food and drink for all those who care enough to carry on the legacy of President Millard Fillmore, who said “An honorable defeat is better than a dishonorable victory.”

Peter Schorsch is the President of Extensive Enterprises and is the publisher of some of Florida’s most influential new media websites, including,,, and Sunburn, the morning read of what’s hot in Florida politics.
