He was supposed to be hurt. His team was supposed to play around him. And yet, just like most weeks, Quinton Flowers ran wild. There are headaches ahead for the Seminoles. Take a glance at Clemson, and you can see why they were in last season’s national championship game. They have running back Wayne Gallman and receiver Mike Williams. They have corner Cordrea Tankersley and linebacker Ben Boulware. They have defensive linemen Christian Wilkins and Carlos Watkins. But most of all, they have quarterback Deshaun Watson. He’s the player FSU needs to stop. It’s the same on the other sideline. The Seminoles have quarterback…

The season is halfway over and yet, some players have gone farther than others. FSU’s Dalvin Cook, for instance, seems to have gotten off to a slow slart. But he’s third in America in rushing, which isn’t bad. USF’s Marlon Mack has already become the most impressive running back in school history. He threw for 250 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 115 in USF’s 38-22 victory over East Carolina. Other players considered for the award include USF’s Marlon Mack, who had 150 yards rushing;…

The Seminoles, behind North Carolina by as many as 21 points on the afternoon, came back to take a one-point lead with 23 seconds to go. But Nick Weiler nailed a career-long 54-yard field goal as time expired and the Tar Heels salvaged a 37-35 game that may have eliminated the Seminoles from the national title picture. FSU,…

Back in the day, Louisville jumped all over FSU. Back in the day, FSU managed to come back. Back in the day, FSU retained its national rankings. If it doesn’t seem long ago to you … well, it wasn’t.
