in The Bay and the 'Burg/Top Headlines by

St. Pete Mayor Rick Kriseman sat down with local musician and  Mark Etherington to discuss all things Sunshine City during a guest segment on St. Pete Radio’s Homemade Broadcast. That conversation included the controversial Pier demolition. Crews began dismantling the Pier piece by piece Monday afternoon with a giant excavator. The inverted pyramid is expected to be completely erased from the downtown skyline within six weeks, with total demolition of the Pier head and approach done by February. While some are continuing to…

in The Bay and the 'Burg/Top Headlines by

St. Pete Mayor Rick Kriseman thought he was doing city workers a favor when he proposed a 3 percent, across-the-board pay raise for all city employees in his fiscal year 2016 budget. It was more than unions for blue- and white-collar workers proposed for its more than 1,250 employees. Yet Kriseman still finds himself amid a wage dispute with the Florida Public Services Union. That’s because under the mayor’s proposal, the highest wage increase the city has proposed in the…

A post Wednesday night asks, “who is the lead on the Pier Park design?” The post points out that ASD, the local architecture firm working on the project, is a “progressive interior design” firm and the larger firm, Rogers Partners, is not local. That’s mostly…
